Mitch
Manns
Mitch
was born in Detroit and started playing guitar around age 6.
His dad liked country and his mom listened to 50's rock which
he absorbed.
On TV he watched Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, and
Roy Clark all would contribute to his guitar style.
Mitch
took lessons, and learned more guitar from his dad and
uncle, Arlie Johnson. A few years later on a trip to West Virginia
he saw his cousin play banjo.The next Christmas there
was one under the tree. His teen years were spent playing
music adding mandolin, dobro,and bass.
He
has worked with many bluegrass bands including,
Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountian Boys, Mike Adams Band,
Vernon Mcintyre's Appalachian Grass, Blue Velvet,
Bluegrass Gentlemen, Timberline, and North Country Grass.
Mitch
is currently a member of the progressive Cass Ave Ramblers
and the traditional Roy Cobb and the Coachmen.
In
addition to his bluegrass roots he has worked
with many country artists.
Including Jack Green, Jean Sheppard, Tommy Cash,
Leroy Van Dyke, Del Reeves ,and Sheb Wooley.
Fronting
his own Rock-a-Billy band "Rockin' Hoss"
He has developed a devoted following.
Studying many different guitar styles Mitch has blended
them together as one. Country, Blues, Flatpicking,
Fingerpicking, Rock, and Jazz Can all be heard in his playing
.A music instructor since his teen Mitch has a
unique perspective on playing music.
The Manns Guitar Academy will enable him to pass
on his years of experience
to young
and old alike
