Easy Songs To Play On Guitar By Using 4 Basic Open Chords

Learning Chords

For a lot of beginners at guitar learning, the first purpose is to learn a number of easy songs to play on the guitar. And one of the primary challenges here is learning all the guitar chords necessary in order to be able to play all those tunes.

And that is certainly not always an easy thing to accomplish. Numerous melodies uses chords that seem to have come to exist for no other reason than to ensure it is impossible to play. No surprise you give up on those songs. They have to wait until you get better at guitar playing.

G-Em-C-D

The Chord progression G-Em-C-D is a common ( big understatement!) sequence all over the world, in most sorts of music styles. You can of course transpose to other chords, like C-Am-F-G or D-Bm-G-A and so on. An additional way to "transpose" a song that not suits your voice is to use a capo at any fret you prefer.

I have put together a small listing of songs that I found that uses these chords. Quite a few uses the progression throughout the entire song, others are played with variations. And a few of these uses other chords as well.

The List

So here it is, my small gift to those of you who can't find easy songs to play on guitar.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Boz Scaggs has kept a fairly low profile since his heyday in the '70s and '80s--a circumstance more than rectified with Greatest Hits Live, a great-looking, great-sounding concert recorded in San Francisco in 2004.
